Celebrated Sri Lankan watercolorist Sanjeewee Senevirathna has been invited as one of the International Guest Artists for the prestigious Penang International Watercolor Festival 2025, themed Re-Interpretation 2025.
This globally recognized event is curated by the renowned Kong Yaw, and brings together master watercolorists from around the world to celebrate the evolving language of watercolor art.
Held in the vibrant city of George Town, Penang, Malaysia — a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site — the festival will take place from 30th April to 6th May, transforming the city into a hub of artistic exchange, cultural richness, and creative energy.
Sanjeewee Senevirathna will be presenting two exclusive master demonstrations during the festival:
04 May – Plein Air Demonstration at the Traditional Malay Village in Balik Pulau, offering a glimpse into capturing the essence of local life and heritage architecture in open air.
05 May – Master Demonstration at the Exhibition Hall, George Town, where he will unveil his techniques, composition choices, and signature watercolor magic in an indoor setting.
Senevirathna’s participation marks a proud moment for Sri Lanka, showcasing the nation’s rich artistic tradition on an international stage.
